Sophie Laverdière made
an early debut on the equestrian scene at 4 years of age.
It was some time, however, before she was given her first horse in 1986.
From the age of 15 years old, Sophie competed in performance
shows on the provincial level until 1988.
She discovered the reining discipline in 1990, and as they say,
" it was love at first ride !" She was hooked.
With help from her father, Raynald Laverdière,
who was already involved in reining, she now specializes in this field.
Four years later, having graduated from Laval university,
she started her own riding school. Sophie has gone on building a career
as an instructor, horse trainer an competitor. As an Open rider,
Sophie has accumulated numerous championships titles and awards ;
an impressive amount growing bigger every year. She has made her mark
in Québec, the Maritimes, as well as several United States show circuits.
With a bachelor`s degree in Education, Sophie is known to be a talented and passionate teacher. She takes every student as an individual and
communicates her knowledge with ease and simplicity.
As a horse trainer, her reputation and competitive success ( see results ),
leave no doubt that her skills
on the fast-growing reining scene, are amongst the best.
